Steven Stone

Steven Stone is an accomplished professional in the field of natural resource economics, currently serving as the Deputy Director of the Economy Division at the UN Environment Programme since February 2010. Previously, Steven held several key positions within the organization, including Chief of the Resources and Markets Branch and Chief of the Economics and Trade Branch. Before joining the UN Environment Programme, Steven worked at the Inter-American Development Bank from October 1996 to January 2010, where roles included Resident Representative and Senior Environmental Specialist. Steven holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Natural Resource Economics from Cornell University, as well as a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology from Swarthmore College.
