Brian Bishop

Brian Bishop currently serves as President of the Open Connectivity Foundation since September 2021 and also holds the position of Vice Chair of the OCF Strategy Work Group. As Chief Executive Officer of Data People Connected Limited since September 2009, Brian focuses on research and development projects aimed at enhancing Smart Communities and Social Value within both the public and private sectors. Collaborations with universities including Oxford, Liverpool, and Lancaster involve creating a collaborative data platform designed to improve interoperability, save costs, and promote lower carbon footprints. Additionally, Brian is part of the United Nations roster for Smart City consultants. Previous positions include Sales Director at Knowsley Lift Services Ltd and Control Equipment Technician with HM Forces, where Brian began a career in electronics engineering. Brian's education includes an ONC in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the School of Electronic Engineering, completed in 1988.
