Karen Fanous

Karen Fanous is a dedicated professional in women's economic empowerment and research with extensive experience in various organizations. Currently serving as a Programme Analyst at UN Women since April 2021, Karen previously held positions such as Senior Research Officer at the Egypt Foundation for Integrated Development from October 2020 to April 2021, and Research Officer at the Institute of Development Studies from January 2020 to December 2020. Earlier roles included working as a Gender Diversity and Women's Inclusion Associate, as well as a Junior Analyst at Ahead of the Curve from September 2016 to September 2019. Karen holds a Master of Arts in Poverty and Development from the Institute of Development Studies (2019-2020) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the American University in Cairo (2012-2016). Education was completed at St Fatima Language School with an IGCSE in Economics (2010-2012).
