Mehtap Tatar

Mehtap Tatar is a prominent professional with extensive experience in gender and humanitarian action, currently serving as Deputy Representative for UN Women in Nepal. With a career at UN Women starting in March 2012, Tatar has held various roles including Gender in Humanitarian Action Specialist and Gender Advisor during crises such as the Rohingya refugee situation and the Türkiye earthquake response. Tatar's expertise encompasses program strategy design, capacity building, resource mobilization, and strategic partnerships across numerous assignments in regions including Turkey, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. Prior to UN Women, Tatar managed international relations and cultural affairs at Çankaya University and has a solid academic foundation in Media and Cultural Studies and International Relations from Middle East Technical University.
