Meriza Emilbekova

Meriza Emilbekova is a seasoned communications and advocacy professional with extensive experience in gender data and statistics. Currently serving as a Communications Analyst at UN Women since September 2020, Meriza has previously held roles including Communications and Advocacy Officer and International Communications and Advocacy Consultant within the organization. Key achievements include significant contributions to reforms in laws against domestic violence in Kyrgyzstan and fundraising for grassroots initiatives focused on the elimination of violence against women and girls. Meriza's earlier experience includes serving as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at The World Bank, where critical project implementation activities were overseen. Meriza holds a Master's degree with distinction in Gender, Violence and Conflict from the University of Sussex and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the American University of Central Asia.
