Penny Hawkins

Penny Hawkins, CFRE, serves as the Associate Vice Chancellor of Development and previously held the position of Senior Director of Development - Strategic Planning & Gifts at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte since September 2021. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Consultant at PMA Nonprofit Leadership from January 2018 to August 2021, where the focus was on guiding nonprofit leaders. Hawkins also functioned as Development Program Manager at Novant Health, leading major gifts initiatives for the pediatric and women's service line, and as Director of Development at KinderMourn, providing support for bereaved families. Earlier career positions include Associate Director of Development at the Council for Children's Rights, Special Events Coordinator, and Associate roles at BlackHawk Alpha and Mountain Khakis. Hawkins holds a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
