A. Wesley Burks

A. Wesley Burks is the current CEO at UNC Health. A. previously served as the Executive Dean at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine from January 2015 to January 2019. Prior to that, they were the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina from November 2011 to March 2016. A. has also served as a Professor of Pediatrics and Chief of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at Duke University Medical Center from July 2003 to November 2011 and at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences from August 1985 to July 2003.

Dr. A. Wesley Burks is a graduate of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine. A. also holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Central Arkansas. Dr. Burks is currently the Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer for UC San Diego Health.
