Stuart Borrett

Stuart Borrett is a prominent academic and researcher currently serving as Program Director for the NSF GRANTED Program at the National Science Foundation since August 2024. Borrett has been a faculty member at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington since August 2007, where roles include Professor and Associate Provost for Research and Innovation, overseeing various research and innovation initiatives. Borrett's expertise in systems ecology involves investigating ecological processes and mentoring students at multiple levels. Prior experiences include visiting positions at Duke University and Stanford University, roles in research at the Institute for the Study of Learning and Expertise, and environmental management at Entrix, Inc. Borrett earned a PhD in Ecology from the University of Georgia and a BA in Biology from Austin College.
