Zelda Lockhart, PhD, currently serves as a Fulbright Specialist at the U.S. Department of State, focusing on expressive writing workshops and cross-cultural experiences between HBCUs and African universities. As the Director of Zelda's Story Garden Studios since June 2013, Zelda Lockhart inspires women to self-define and heal through the literary arts. In academia, Zelda Lockhart holds the position of Visiting Associate Professor of Creative Writing at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and previously served as Associate Professor and Distinguished Endowed Chair at North Carolina Central University. With experience at institutions like Duke University and Meredith College, Zelda Lockhart has extensively taught creative writing and facilitated workshops. Additionally, as the owner of LaVenson Press, a publishing house dedicated to women and girls of color, and through an independent consultancy in expressive arts organizational development, Zelda Lockhart has contributed significantly to the fields of creative writing and expressive art therapies, holding a PhD in Expressive Art Therapies from Lesley University.
