James Phimister

James Phimister is an experienced leader in business strategy and growth, currently serving as the Managing Director of New Business and Strategic Partnerships at NEJM Group since May 2020. Previously, James founded and led PHI Perspectives, a consulting practice aimed at enhancing growth for science, medical, and information companies. Prior roles include Vice President of Strategy at ProQuest, where multiyear strategic plans were established, and Vice President of Corporate and Life Sciences Strategy and Marketing at Elsevier, overseeing marketing campaigns. James also gained consulting experience at McKinsey & Company and held the position of J. Herbert Holloman Fellow at The National Academies, where risk minimization in technology was a focus. Academically, James holds a Post Doctorate in Risk Management from The Wharton School and multiple degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and The University of Edinburgh.
