Ian King

Deputy Resident Representative

Ian King has extensive experience in program management and development within the United Nations system, having served as DRR Programme Manager at the United Nations from February 2005 to July 2014, and as Programme Specialist at UNDP RBLAC until February 2018. In various roles at UNDP, including Project Manager, Deputy Resident Representative, and Head of Project Office, Ian has focused on strategic planning and resource mobilization, particularly within the framework of sustainable development goals. Ian played a critical role in recovery efforts in Dominica following Hurricane Maria in 2017. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in GIS and International Development from Clark University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge. Additionally, Ian holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from King's College London. Currently, Ian serves as the UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Uganda.
