James Hanneman currently serves as the Section Head of the Human Resources Services Section at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) since September 2023. With extensive experience in human resources and legal roles, James has held various positions at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) since November 2012, including Human Resources Specialist and Officer in Charge of the Policy and Compensation Unit. Prior to UNDP, James worked as a Legal Officer at the World Food Programme from December 2008 to November 2012, and held legal and human resources roles at both the World Food Programme and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). James began professional career at Banque Nationale as a Labour Relations Advisor. James holds degrees from Université de Montréal and Université de Sherbrooke.
