James Leslie is an experienced Global Programme Manager for Food Systems at UNDP, a position held since August 2008, overseeing delivery, management, and resource mobilization for the global FACS programme in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. In this role, James also coordinates the Nature Pledge, providing support to UNDP country offices in Latin America and the Caribbean. Previously, James served as a Technical Advisor for Ecosystems and Climate Change, offering policy advice to the Government of Peru while managing programmatic implementation in areas such as Environmental and Climate Finance and Ecosystem-based Adaptation. James's earlier experience includes roles at the World Wildlife Fund - Peru and the Peace Corps in Paraguay. Educational achievements include an MBA with a concentration in strategy and finance and a Master of Environmental Science in Forest Policy and Governance from Yale, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Brown University.
