Rifki Furqan

Rifki Furqan is an accomplished National Project Manager for the JSB-SeaBLUE project at UNDP since July 2025, responsible for managing project implementation with a focus on financial planning, partnership development, and gender equality integration. Previously, Rifki served as an Associate Consultant at Digdaya Citta Selaras in early 2025 and worked as a Doctoral Researcher at Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) GmbH from 2019 to 2024, focusing on rights-based fisheries management and marine stewardship behavior with support from DAAD Research Grants. Additional experience includes consultancy at IUCN in late 2023 for a case study on fisheries conservation and a role as a Research Fellow with Future Earth Coasts from 2020 to 2022, contributing to sustainability and adaptation in coastal zones. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Economics from Constructor University and an MSc in Environmental and Infrastructure Planning from the University of Groningen.
