Richard Newens

Richard Newens, CNIM, currently serves as a Surgical Neurophysiologist at SpecialtyCare, where responsibilities include real-time communication of neurophysiological data to surgical teams and development of neuromonitoring protocols. With a background as a Digital Analyst at Unearth, Richard has managed client advertisement and web development accounts, providing insight into ad performance and web traffic. Previous experiences include roles as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and internships at Kaiser Permanente and the UC Davis Center for Neuroscience, focusing on neuroimaging and deep brain stimulation technologies. Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Electrical Engineering from UC Santa Cruz, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
