Ana Raquel Santos Agra is an accomplished professional specializing in biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, and sustainable development. Currently serving as the Deputy Head and Senior Programme Officer in the Nature-Based Solutions area at UNEP-WCMC since June 2020, Ana coordinates projects related to biodiversity, ecosystem services, and climate policy. Previous experiences include consultancy roles focusing on sustainable development and collaboration with GIZ on tropical forest conservation. Ana has held significant positions in various organizations, including Project Director and Technical Advisor for GIZ's German-Brazilian cooperation program and Director-General of Environmental Assets for the State Government of Tocantins. Ana's academic background includes a PhD in Biology and an MSc in Ecology, supported by various research and technical roles in environmental studies.
