Jay Jaehong Kim has a diverse work experience, starting in 1998 as a Lance Corporal in the Republic of Korea Marine Corps. Jay Jaehong later worked as a Team Leader for NGOs from 2006 to 2011. From 2011 to 2013, they were a staff member at WASEDA University. In 2013, they joined UNESCO APCEIU as an Assistant Programme Specialist of the Office of International Teacher Exchange. Jay Jaehong then held various roles within UNESCO APCEIU, including Assistant Programme Specialist of the Office of Education and Training, Head of the Office of Research and Development, and Head of the Office of Education and Training. Jay Jaehong worked on various projects related to Global Citizenship Education, Human Rights, Peace Education, Cultural Diversity, and Sustainable Development. In 2021, they became a Member of Mission 4.7, where they contributed to promoting prosperity, inclusivity, and environmental sustainability.
Jay Jaehong Kim completed their B.A. in Russian Language and Literature at Korea University. Jay Jaehong then pursued an M.A. in International Relations and Affairs at Waseda University. Additionally, they participated in an exchange program at Peking University, focusing on Asian Integration. Currently, Kim is a Ph.D. candidate in International Cooperation at Korea University.

UNESCO-APCEIU(Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding) is a Category II Centre established in 2000 to promote and develop Education for International Understanding, currently regarded as Global Citizenship Education(GCED). APCEIU plays a pivotal role in promoting GCED reflected in both the UNESCO Education 2030 and UN Sustainable Development Goals. Guided by the UNESCO Recommendation concerning Education for International Understanding, Co-operation and Peace and Education relating to Human Rights and Fundamental Freedom(1974) and the Declaration and Integrated Framework of Action on Education for Peace, Human Rights and Democracy(1995), UNESCO-APCEIU seeks to integrate individuals, communities, nations, and international/global systems, as well as to foster a sustainable relationship between humanity and nature.
