UNESCO-APCEIU(Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding) is a Category II Centre established in 2000 to promote and develop Education for International Understanding, currently regarded as Global Citizenship Education(GCED). APCEIU plays a pivotal role in promoting GCED reflected in both the UNESCO Education 2030 and UN Sustainable Development Goals. Guided by the UNESCO Recommendation concerning Education for International Understanding, Co-operation and Peace and Education relating to Human Rights and Fundamental Freedom(1974) and the Declaration and Integrated Framework of Action on Education for Peace, Human Rights and Democracy(1995), UNESCO-APCEIU seeks to integrate individuals, communities, nations, and international/global systems, as well as to foster a sustainable relationship between humanity and nature.
