Daniel Zhang

Daniel Zhang has extensive experience in the field of artificial intelligence and policy initiatives, having served as Senior Manager for Policy Initiatives and Policy Research Manager at the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) from March 2019 to April 2023. Zhang managed AI Index research and was a member of the High-Level Expert Group on AI Ethics for both Stanford HAI and UNESCO. Prior to these roles, Zhang worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Center for Security and Emerging Technology and at Stanford HAI. Academic credentials include a Master of Arts in Security Studies with a focus on Technology Policy and International Security, as well as an Honors Certificate in International Business Diplomacy, both obtained from Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service.
