Hiroko Tsuboi-Friedman has extensive experience in cultural policy and international affairs, currently serving as a member of the UNESCO Expert Facility for the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions since January 2019. Tsuboi-Friedman served as the Deputy Director for International Affairs at the Cabinet Office of the Government of Japan from April 2021 to March 2023 and held the position of Council Member at the Kanagawa Prefecture Arts and Culture Promotion Council from September 2018 to August 2022, contributing to significant cultural initiatives. Previous roles include Director at Shiroyama Consulting Co., Ltd. and various positions at the Cabinet Office, where Tsuboi-Friedman was involved in policy research from March 2014 to March 2019. Educational qualifications include a Master of Social Sciences in Sociology from Hitotsubashi University and a Bachelor of Arts in History of Art from Smith College.
