Ming Chee Ang, PhD, serves as the Director of the Penang State Museum Board since January 2024 and has been the Symposium Director for the We Are Site Managers International Symposium since March 2019, successfully hosting over 160 heritage professionals in 2024. Additionally, Ming has held the position of General Manager at George Town World Heritage Incorporated since February 2013, focusing on innovative management of World Heritage Sites and serving as an accredited UNESCO facilitator for intangible cultural heritage. In various advisory roles, Ming contributes to heritage conservation and strategic planning efforts. Previous experience includes roles as a Research Fellow and Senior Analyst at Penang Institute and as a Visiting Fellow at the Graduate Institute of Development Studies in Taiwan. Ming’s academic credentials include a PhD in Political Science from the National University of Singapore, alongside multiple certifications in areas of heritage and education.
