Diego Ruiz

Diego Ruiz currently serves as the Deputy Director and Head of Assignments and Talent Mobilization in the Division of Human Resources at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, since August 2023. Prior to this role, Diego held various senior positions in human resources, including Chief of Human Resources Management at the International Telecommunication Union from March 2021 to July 2023 and Deputy Director and Chief of Strategic People Management at UNDP from November 2014 to February 2021. Diego's extensive career in human resources management spans over two decades, including leadership roles at IUCN and PRODINFO, as well as an earlier position as a specialist at Banco Central del Ecuador. Diego's educational background includes an Executive Programme in High Performance Leadership from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an MSc in Computer Science from The Open University, and a BSc in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador.
