Elizabeth Coco has extensive experience in education and community engagement, currently serving as an Associate Education Officer at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency since September 2020, with various roles in the Protection, Field, and Community-Based Protection Units. Prior to this, Elizabeth worked at GeoTropics LLC as a Community Engagement & Education Specialist, Grant Writing & Capacity Building Manager, and Field & Data Manager from January 2019 to September 2020. Elizabeth also held positions as a Math & Science Teacher and Science Curriculum Mapping Lead at Union School Haiti from August 2017 to January 2019, and as a Math & Literacy Teacher for English Language Learners at Providence Public Schools from August 2014 to July 2017. Additional experience includes serving as a Corps Member with Teach For America, participating in community-based research at William & Mary, and coordinating the IDP Youth Program at ABC Haiti Project. Elizabeth earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, Sociology, and Global Public Health from William & Mary and a Master’s in Education focused on Refugee and Immigrant Education from Rhode Island College.
