Kristy Siegfried is a seasoned journalist and editor with extensive experience in the fields of migration, refugee issues, and healthcare communications. Currently serving as a Senior Editor/Writer for UNHCR since August 2017, Kristy crafts and publishes impactful stories for the organization's website. Prior to this role, Kristy spent over a decade at The New Humanitarian, where management of coverage on global migration and refugee topics was a key responsibility. Previous positions include Press Officer at The AIDS Consortium, Communications Consultant at EngenderHealth, and various freelance journalism roles focusing on HIV/AIDS in southern Africa. Kristy holds a Master’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature and Media Studies from the University of Sussex.
