Leonel Guzman

Leonel Guzman, CMgr MCMI, CMA, currently serves as Deputy Controller a.i. at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, since September 2024. Prior to this role, Guzman held the position of Director of the Finance & Accounting Division at IOM - UN Migration from January 2023 to August 2024, and previously worked at UNHCR as Change Management Lead and Chief Section for Cloud ERP between March 2019 and January 2023. Additional experience includes serving as Strategic Budget Adviser at UNFPA from September 2017 to February 2019, and Senior Budget Adviser at UNHCR from October 2014 to August 2017. Guzman's extensive career with IOM spans over a decade, with multiple leadership roles including Chief Financial Services and Regional Resource Management Officer. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Information Systems Management from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Universidad Central (CR).
