Tarek Asfour

Tarek Asfour has held various roles in different companies and organizations.

In 2020, they worked as a Product Engineer at unhindr.

Tarek then went on to co-found qemtraq in 2021, where they serve as the CEO.

In the same year, Tarek also worked as a Research Assistant at Imperial College London.

Prior to that, they were a Research and Development Engineer at the University of Kent from July to October 2018. In this role, they developed creative product solutions, prototyped mechanical designs, and produced design documentation for manufacturers.

In 2017, Tarek was a team member at University of Kent iGEM, where they represented Team Kent and achieved a bronze medal and the "Best Poster" prize at the Giant Jamboree in Boston, MA. Tarek was responsible for various research project tasks, practiced wet lab techniques, and designed digital graphics and content for events.

Before that, they worked as a Summer Intern at the Salbashian Group in 2016, collaborating on website development and assisting in the installation of various medical devices.

In 2015, Tarek served as a Live Sound Engineer at Triad Live Productions, implementing audio and light setups, executing audio-visual and home automation projects, and operating audio production for live performances.

Lastly, they served as an Operations and Technical Organizer at Amman Model United Nations from 2011 to 2012.

Tarek Asfour completed their IB Diploma in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities from Amman Baccalureate School from 2001 to 2013. Tarek then pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree with a focus on Biomedical Engineering (HNS) at the University of Kent from 2015 to 2018. Following that, Tarek Asfour enrolled at Imperial College London in 2019 and completed their Human and Biological Robotics MSc, specializing in Biomedical/Medical Engineering in 2020. In terms of additional certifications, Tarek obtained a Pharma Consulting Skills Masterclass certificate from the Eradigm Centre of Excellence in September 2020. Tarek also acquired certifications in CAD and Digital Manufacturing Specialization, An Introduction to Programming the Internet of Things (IOT) Specialization, and Introduction to Digital Sound Design from Coursera in September 2018 and September 2014, respectively.
