John Townsend

John Townsend has a strong background in internal communications and PR. John most recently served as the Head Of Internal Communications at Unicef UK, starting in May 2017. Prior to that, they held the same position at The Children's Society from December 2013 to May 2017. Before joining The Children's Society, John worked as a Senior Internal Communications Officer at NSPCC from December 2011 to December 2013, where they were part of an award-winning team that kept the organization's staff informed and engaged. John also implemented initiatives such as a storytelling program. John's earlier experience includes working as a Media and PR executive at Hilton in the Community Foundation from March 2008 to December 2011. In this role, they managed all aspects of PR and communications and built strong relationships with Hilton business leaders across multiple countries.

John Townsend attended Marlborough College from 1995 to 1999. During this time, they did not receive a degree or study any specific field. Subsequently, they went on to Trinity College Dublin, where they pursued a degree in English literature and Italian from 2000 to 2004.
