Alex Schein currently serves as the Chief of Section for Youth and Adolescent Development at UNICEF's MENA Regional Office since May 2017. Previously, Alex held various leadership positions at the American Red Cross from January 2014 to May 2017, including Regional Representative for Middle East and North Africa and South Asia. Prior experience includes serving as Country Director for Save the Children International and several roles at Save the Children US, including Chief of Party and Director for the Tsunami Response Program. Alex began a career at Catholic Relief Services from June 2000 to July 2007, progressing from Peacebuilding Program Manager to Deputy Director of the Tsunami Response Program. Academic qualifications include a Master’s Degree in International Conflict Resolution and Development from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Tulane University.
