Daniel Vargas is a seasoned professional in the renewable energy and sustainability sector, currently serving as the Solar Unit Leader at UNICEF's Supply Division since March 2022. Prior to this role, Daniel held various positions including Director of Solar Asset Management and Partner at Korkia from January 2018 to March 2022, and Energy Manager at WSP en Chile from 2012 to 2017, where responsibilities included project management focused on sustainability. Earlier experience includes serving as an International Expert in Renewable Energy at UNIDO, developing climate change-related projects, and as Chief Technical Advisor at UNDP, overseeing a GEF-funded rural electrification project. Daniel holds a Master of Science in Environment and Sustainable Development from UCL and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria.
