Roozbeh Pournader

Roozbeh Pournader is a Technical Director at the Unicode Consortium. Roozbeh was previously an Internationalization Lead at WhatsApp Inc. from February 2018 to December 2020. Prior to that, they were an Internationalization Engineer at Google from September 2011 to February 2018. Roozbeh has also worked as an Internationalization Engineer at HighTech Passport, Ltd. from February 2008 to September 2011, and as Chief Technology Officer and Deputy Chairman at Sharif FarsiWeb, Inc. from September 2004 to September 2007. From January 2003 to December 2005, they were the Head of Research and Development at the Computing Center of Sharif University of Technology. Roozbeh has also been a member of the Technical Council at the Working Group for Persian Language and Script from January 2002 to December 2007.

Roozbeh Pournader has a degree in computer software engineering from Sharif University of Technology, as well as degrees in mathematics and physics from Allameh Helli High School and Mofid High School.
