Michael McAlear

VP at UNICON International, Inc.

Mike started with UNICON in 1995 working as a senior system consultant at Alcatel-Lucent. While there, he worked on Alcatel-Lucent’s network management system for their GSM wireless offering, responsible for leading development efforts related to performance management and the integration with new cellular equipment. In 1998, Mike transitioned to a business role within UNICON’s internal staff. His initial focus was performing UNICON’s sales and support activities for Alcatel-Lucent. In this role, he helped significantly increase UNICON’s footprint within Alcatel-Lucent, while also starting its project services business. Over time, Mike continued to help UNICON expand its overall capabilities and client base. In 2002, he was promoted to a Vice President, where he is now responsible for defining UNICON’s sales and marketing strategies, while also managing overall service offerings. Under his direction, UNICON has dramatically increased its client base, regularly achieved double digit growth, and is now recognized as a top IT firm in Central Ohio. Mike possesses a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University, and an M.B.A. from the Ohio State University.
