Maurizio Beretta

Head of Group Institutional & Cultural Affairs at UniCredit

Maurizio Beretta began his career at RAI as a reporter and special correspondent. He was formerly a journalist who worked for RAI, Italy's radio and television public service broadcaster, for more than 20 years, serving as director of RAI 1 and, prior to that, deputy director of TG1.

He joined the Fiat Group in 2001 as Head of Communications and External Relations and from 2003 to 2004 as Director of Institutional and International Relations.

He has extensive experience in Italy's industrial sector, having worked as General Manager of Confindustria from 2004 to 2009 and as Member of the Board of CNEL.

From 2009 to 2017 he was Chairman of Lega Calcio Serie A and Deputy Vice President of Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio.

In March 2011 Maurizio Beretta was appointed Head of Group Identity & Communications for UniCredit.

On April 2018 he was promoted to Group Head of Institutional Affairs & Sustainability and Chairman of the merged UniCredit Foundation.

On October 2019 he has been coopted in Board of Directors of Filarmonica della Scala and on November 22, 2019 he was appointed President of the Associazione Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala.

In November 2019 he was appointed Chief Ethics Officer of the Group.

Since April 2020 he is member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Encyclopedia Institute founded by Giovanni Treccani S.p.A..
