Meemi Taalas

Meemi (Mervi) Taalas currently serves as the Director of Financial Services (CFO) at UNIDO since January 2024. Prior to this role, Taalas held various significant positions at the World Food Programme from September 2015 to January 2024, including Director of the Corporate Business Continuity Management Office and Chief of Performance Management and Reporting. Taalas also temporarily served as Chief Finance Officer at the International Atomic Energy Agency in mid-2023. Earlier experience includes key roles within the United Nations in management and financial positions, as well as a directorship at the Academy of Finland and financial leadership at the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization. Taalas earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Warwick and completed an executive education program at Wharton focused on leadership during challenging times.
