Christopher Whitehead

Christopher Whitehead currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Union College, where courses taught include General Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Nanotechnology. With extensive research experience in the synthesis and application of earth-abundant quantum dot nanocrystals for environmental applications, Christopher previously completed a postdoctoral research position at the University of Basel, focusing on metal oxide formation and mentoring graduate students. A PhD holder in Inorganic Chemistry from Colorado State University, Christopher has also held various teaching and coaching roles, including coaching swim teams and developing swimming curricula. Earlier experience includes working as a chemist at Walt Disney World, ensuring water quality at a large aquarium.
