Rich Becker

Rich Becker is the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the University at Albany since September 2014, focusing on enhancing programmatic and research opportunities through collaboration with university leadership and various foundations. As a play-by-play and sideline reporter for ESPN+ and the America East Conference, Rich has covered college basketball, soccer, and lacrosse, including tournaments at SEFCU Arena. Additionally, Rich serves as the public address announcer for Union College's NCAA Division I men's ice hockey team and previously for Union football. Rich is also a game producer and play-by-play announcer at Spectrum Sports, producing high school football coverage. Earlier roles include Manager of Development Communication at Albany Medical Center, Adjunct Professor at Siena College, Sports Director at WXXA-TV FOX23, and Sports Anchor/Reporter at WOKR 13. Rich Becker holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, an A.S. degree in Communications from Herkimer County Community College, and a certificate in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management from the Emergency Management Institute.
