Upon leaving her hometown of Ft Worth, Texas, Marcia moved to St. Louis, Missouri to attend undergraduate and graduate school at Washington University. Within this community, Marcia worked in private practice as a marriage and family therapist. In addition to her professional career, she devoted a great deal of time to non-for-profit endeavors both in the arts and illness related organizations. Upon moving to Telluride, Colorado, she chaired the board of the Pinhead Institute, A Smithsonian affiliate, promoting science education in Telluride and the surrounding communities. Now in Santa Barbara, Marcia is a member of the Board of Directors of MOXI, the Wolf Museum of Exploration and Innovation. She enjoys knitting, yoga, jazz and loves spending time with her two daughters and two grandchildren.
