Arun Giri

Arun Giri is an experienced technology leader with a strong background in platform engineering and enterprise architecture, currently serving as Head of Platform Engineering, Architecture & Lead Enterprise Engineer at Union Pacific Railroad since March 2013. Giri has led significant initiatives, including the development of a "SOA platform as a service" offering and next-generation logistics systems. Prior to this role, Giri held various positions at Union Pacific Railroad from 2002 to 2012, focusing on system architecture and design, including the development of a domain-specific language for waybill processing. Giri's earlier career includes roles as a Principal Consultant at Aquent, Technical Consultant at Origin Technologies, and various software development positions, showcasing a diverse skill set in technologies such as C/C++ and Java. Giri holds a Master's degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Mysore.
