John Smit

Sr. Vice President - Correspondent Lending at Union Savings Bank

John Smit has extensive work experience in the banking and housing sectors. John started their career in 1997 at Union Savings Bank, where they held the position of Sr. Vice President - Correspondent Lending. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing all bank production in various loan programs, including FHA, VA, RD, and conventional loans. John'sresponsibilities included pricing, compliance, underwriting, pipeline production, investor loan delivery, and loan performance.

In 1999, John joined The Homeownership Center of Greater Cincinnati as a Board Member. The Homeownership Center is a Neighborworks organization that focuses on foreclosure prevention and homebuyer coucelling to help borrowers make more informed decisions. The organization was recognized as a semi-finalist for the Cincinnati Business Courier's Innovation award for its breakthroughs in facilitating communication between borrowers and banks for loan modifications.

John Smit served as a Board Member at The Homeownership Center until 2018.

John Smit attended Penn State University from 1979 to 1983, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art with a focus on drawing and watercolor painting. During the same period, they also earned a degree in Advertising and Fine Art with a specialization in Drawing. In September 2006, they obtained certification as NMLS #638195 from Union Savings Bank.
