Liya Blackwood Carter has held various financial roles throughout their career. Liya started as an Accounting Manager/Controller at Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills, where they reorganized the accounting department and implemented internal controls. Liya then worked as a Controller at MiVIP Surgery Centers, handling financial operations for multiple legal entities and overseeing various financial tasks.

Afterwards, Liya served as a Controller/CFO at teamCFO, Inc, where they held CFO/Controller level roles for multiple clients and worked closely with CEOs and Finance and Audit committees. Liya then became the Controller at SnackNation, leading the accounting team and implementing a structured month-end close schedule.

Liya then joined The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles as the Vice President Finance, where they oversaw a $60 million budget and managed investments and reserves.

Liya later worked as the Sr. VP Finance at a high-growth healthcare clinical company, Confidential. In this role, they redesigned the monthly financial reporting package and developed a comprehensive cash flow model.

Liya also founded Natieva Consulting, LLC and served as the Founder and President. Liya later became a Member at Chief, a company that provides executive coaching and leadership development for women.

Currently, Liya is the Chief Financial Officer at Union Station Homeless Services. In addition to their professional roles, they have also founded the We Stand United Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on creating positive change.

Throughout their career, Liya has demonstrated strong financial acumen and leadership skills, successfully managing budgets, implementing financial strategies, and overseeing accounting teams.

Liya Blackwood Carter obtained their Associate Degree in Law from the Humanitarian Academy in Kharkiv, where they studied from 1994 to 1996. Liya then pursued their higher education at the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" from 1996 to 2002. There, they earned both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Management and Finance.
