Joe has worked in the EV/HEV business for 26 years. He has a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from New York Institute of Technology. His tenure in the alternative-fuel transportation industry started with the design, development and integration of a variety of liquid and gaseous fuel systems and then evolved into battery energy and thermal management, including advanced auxiliary power unit systems for HEVs (such as fuel cells and microturbines). His professional experience includes printed circuit board manufacturing, quality control, industrial engineering and technical writing. Joe has authored many publications on battery energy and thermal management for heavy- and light-duty electric vehicles. In addition to EV/HEV system integration and R&D, he has worked closely with U.S.-based and offshore electric utilities, along with organizations such as the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Cities demonstration programs for alternative-fuel vehicle development and electric drive system development and vehicles. Joe has authored 10 U.S. patents in the field of battery energy/thermal management, energy storage enclosures and advanced propulsion systems.
