Matt Oates

Matt Oates is the current Chief Data Officer at Unai. Matt has a background in analytics and software engineering, and has been working in the genetic health industry for several years. Prior to their current position, Matt was a Principal Scientist at Congenica ltd, where they added scientific value to the Sapientia platform. Matt has also worked as a Research Associate at the University of Bristol and as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Catchment & Coastal Research. In addition to their work in the genetic health industry, Matt has also worked as a programmer at Plymouth Marine Laboratory.

Matt Oates has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Complexity Science / Computational Biology from the University of Bristol, an MRes in Complexity Sciences from the University of Bristol, and a BSc in Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence from Aberystwyth University. Matt also has certification from Cloudera in Hadoop Developer.

They work with Mark Ellis - Advisor, Non-Executive Director & CCO, Neil Myland - Chief Delivery Officer, and Henry Dunn - Chief of Staff. Matt Oates reports to James Baldwin, CEO.
