Scott Fiveland has extensive work experience in engineering and technology management. Scott is currently employed as the Vice President at Unison Energy since April 2020. From 1992 to 1996, they attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy where they earned a degree in Marine Engineering Systems. During their time there, they also obtained a 3rd Engineer license in Steam, Diesel, and Gas Turbine operation.

From 1996 to 2002, they pursued higher education at the University of Michigan, where they obtained both a Master's degree and a Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering. Their research focused on Engine Combustion modeling and experiments, specifically in the field of diesel and natural gas engines.

In addition to their academic achievements, Scott Fiveland also obtained several certifications. In June 1996, they retired as a Lieutenant Commander from the US Navy. Scott also holds a 3rd Engineer License in Steam, Diesel, and Gas Turbine operation (Unlimited KW) issued by the U.S. Coast Guard.

Scott Fiveland further enhanced their professional skills by completing a management program called "Management for the 21st Century" at Bradley University in January 2006. Later, in February 2012, they completed the Leadership Program at Bradley University.
