Peir Lai has extensive work experience in various roles within the IT and financial services industries.

Starting in 1997 with Accenture, Lai worked as a Consultant, where they quickly rose to team leadership positions. They served as a Team Leader in SAP Patient Accounting in Jakarta, Indonesia, and as a Testing Lead at British American Tobacco in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In 1999, Lai joined Intelligroup as a Principal SAP Consultant and Senior Project Manager. They specialized in SAP Healthcare, Warehouse Management, and Finance, successfully delivering projects for clients such as Queensland Nickels, New Zealand Apples & Pears Board, Carter Holt Harvey, Transfield Australia, and Canterbury District Health Board.

From 2002 to 2003, Lai worked at Atos Origin - ME as a Program Manager - Integration. They were headhunted to join Saudi Aramco's senior management team, where they managed a $100m+ SAP program, delivering a fully integrated e-Health/Hospital IT solution to four hospitals. This system played a crucial role in modernizing the hospitals' end-to-end processes and improving productivity.

At SMS Management Technology, starting in 2005, Lai served as a Senior Project Manager specializing in the Financial Services Industry. They worked closely with Suncorp on various strategic projects and consulting assignments, including crafting a Metadata Strategy to enhance data integrity and quality management.

Lai then joined Planwell Technology in 2007 as a Senior Project Manager, spearheading the company's entry into the South Korean market. They successfully implemented a $10m program involving incident, problem, and change management modules for Samsung Electronics.

In 2010, Lai returned to SMS Management & Technology, this time as a Practice Leader and Senior Consultant (Program Manager). They played multiple senior roles in high-profile programs such as NAB's NextGen initiative and NABStratus, a $100m+ infrastructure migration program.

From 2014 to 2018, Lai joined National Australia Bank as a Technology Risk Delivery - Program Director. They led a $150m+ Technology Risk Portfolio, ensuring compliance with APRA regulations and leveraging cutting-edge data analytics and the Scaled Agile methodology.

At SAS, from 2018 to 2023, Lai worked as a Program Director/Principal Industry Lead in the Financial Services space. They drove revenue growth through executive-level stakeholder management, leveraging extensive industry expertise in banking and insurance to differentiate SAS in the market.

Currently, Lai is at UniSuper, starting in 2023, working as a Program Manager for Finance Transformation. They are leading a multi-million dollar program, delivering a new system and managing a large team to achieve enterprise-wide benefits and impact.

Peir Lai has a strong educational background in the field of business and management. Peir obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business in 2004. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Business degree from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) in 2003-2004. In their undergraduate years, from 1994 to 1997, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Nanyang Technological University Singapore. Moving back in time, Peir completed their A Levels at Victoria Junior College in 1990-1991 and their O Levels at Anglican High School from 1986 to 1989. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained certifications in SAFe from Scaled Agile, Inc. in January 2018 and in Managing Successful Programs from the Office of Government Commerce.
