Chris Swan

Chris Swan has a diverse and extensive work experience in the gaming industry. Chris currently holds the position of Head of Publishing at Unit 2 Games since June 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Publishing Director at Unit 2 Games from December 2017 until June 2021.

From 2013 to 2017, Chris worked at Radiant Worlds, where they held the roles of Publishing Director and Head of Web Systems. As the Head of Web Systems, they managed a team of Java engineers and was responsible for developing game web services capable of large-scale global deployment. Chris also took charge of planning, managing, and prioritizing development, client liaisons, and Dev Ops/configuration management. Additionally, they created stress/performance test systems to ensure effective delivery of the systems.

Before Radiant Worlds, Chris worked at Blitz Games Studios as the Head of Web Services in 2013, where they formed a web services team to provide online services for Blitz's games and external clients. These services included single sign-on, analytics, social graphs, server-controlled game data, cloud storage, achievements, and leaderboards.

From 2010 to 2013, Chris served as the Project Lead at IndieCity, where they were responsible for overall planning, direction, and risk management of the venture. Their responsibilities included project management, marketing planning, social media/PR strategies, staff planning, and finance management.

Prior to IndieCity, Chris held several roles at Blitz Games Studios, including Blitz 1UP Business Development Director from 2008 to 2010. In this role, they managed the day-to-day operations and maintained relationships while overseeing the overall strategy. Chris also worked as a Business Development Director from 2006 to 2008 and as a Project Manager and Technical Manager from 1998 to 2006.

Chris began their career in 1995 as a Programmer at Big Red Software.

Chris Swan attended the University of Nottingham from 1993 to 1996, where they pursued a BSc degree in Computing and Maths.
