Vice President of Sales, West at Unite Us

Will Bowens is currently the Vice President of Sales, West at Unite Us. Prior to this, they were the Director of Sales at Getty Images from January 2007 to September 2020. In their role at Getty Images, they were responsible for managing and directing 50 sales professionals within the company’s Independent and Direct Sales Channel teams. Will oversaw the execution of new business growth initiatives, including Getty’s digital media subscription and cloud-based digital asset management product suite.

During their time at Getty Images, Will instituted the Independent Sales Channel as a means of growing revenue without a fixed, upfront cost and minimal headcount-related expenses. This resulted in $20 million of additional sales revenue. Will was solely responsible for developing all applicable and necessary commission plans, SPIFs, and travel budget. Will also managed the annual budget for SPIFs and T&E expenses and was able to significantly reduce travel expenses through implementation of better meeting practices (i.e. WebEx).

Will also organized the sales team into vertical specialists to achieve a higher understanding of specific industries and thereby a more stylized sales approach. This resulted in a 49% conversion rate on warm leads and a 70% conversion rate on large deals in the pipeline. Will partnered with the internal Learning & Development team, Vice President and Sales Operations team to construct a global sales process and training in 2015 for properly educating customers on licensing, non-compliance prevention and upselling initiatives.

Will has been recognized for their successes at Getty Images. Will prepared annual and quarterly strategic plans that included focusing on the most profitable solutions and opportunities in Getty’s portfolio. Will also reduced employee turnover 30% by redesigning and implementing North American training program in conjunction with Learning & Development team to align operations with newly-instituted consultative/systematic sales approach. Will was chosen as one of four Sales Directors to spearhead implementation of Salesforce and change management processes.

Will Bowens holds a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University Chicago in Political Science and Communication. Will is certified from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
