Joseph Raines has a strong background in the banking and financial industry. Joseph is currently working as a Senior Vice President at United Bank of Southwest Alabama & Northwest Florida since 2018, where they also hold the position of Managing Director, Community Housing at UB Community Development. Before that, Joseph worked at Regions Financial Corporation for 18 years in various roles, including SVP/Affordable Housing and Senior VP/Senior Credit Officer. Joseph started their career at Southtrust Bank as VP/Business Banking Real Estate, and prior to that, they worked as a Commercial Real Estate Client Manager at SunTrust. Joseph is experienced in managing teams, underwriting loans, and developing new business segments, with a focus on community housing and affordable housing.
Joseph Raines obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Finance from Jacksonville State University, where they studied from 1985 to 1989. Prior to that, from 1984 to 1985, they attended Auburn University but did not obtain a degree. Joseph completed their high school education at Sylacauga High School from 1981 to 1984. Joseph later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in General Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where they studied from 1990 to 1993.
