Darren K. Williams

Darren K. Williams currently serves as the company’s Chief Risk Officer. He is responsible for overseeing the company’s strategy for enterprise risk management, including relationships with regulators and supervisory institutions. Williams’ team provides oversight and guidance on the key areas of risk management such as loan review, compliance matters, the Bank Secrecy Act, fraud and security, the Community Reinvestment Act and Fair Lending.

Williams joined United through its acquisition of Centra Financial Holdings where he served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Information Officer. Prior to this, he was a senior manager at Ernst & Young LLP and specialized in financial institutions.

Williams has also served as the Chief Information Officer for the West Virginia University Foundation. He is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated with a Bachelors and Masters in Professional Accountancy from West Virginia University.
