Environmental Scientist/engineer I at UCOR

Chelsea West is an experienced Environmental Scientist/Engineer I at URS | CH2M Oak Ridge (UCOR) since May 2017, previously holding the position of General Plant and Capital Projects Intern. With a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Lincoln Memorial University, Chelsea conducted significant undergraduate research on the residual effects of coal mining on mussel populations in the Powell River and presented findings at the Tennessee Endangered Mussel Conference in December 2015. Additional experience includes serving as a Peer Tutor/Mentor to enhance student study skills and performance. Prior research assistance at the University of Tennessee's Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology involved collecting tick specimens and performing DNA extractions. Chelsea also has continued education at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga since 2019.

United Cleanup Oak Ridge is conducting major cleanup activities at the laboratory and the security complex as well as remedial activities. Their packaging, loading, shipping, and disposal of all waste from deactivation, demolition, and remediation activities. UCOR is deactivating and demolishing excess facilities, which includes remediatingcontaminated soil, water, and infrastructure.
