Lauren Byron, MPA, has been serving as a Grants and Operations Associate and previously as a Program Assistant at United Community Schools since June 2019. Prior experience includes working as an Ally at the NYC Community Learning School Initiative with Public Allies from September 2018 to June 2019, where responsibilities involved program assistance and outreach coordination. Lauren's earlier roles include Operations Supervisor at Staples from April 2015 to August 2018 and Afterschool and Camp Counselor at East Side House Settlement from June 2008 to August 2010. Lauren holds a Master of Public Administration with a focus on Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from Baruch College (2019-2022), a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership (2014-2016), and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from LaGuardia Community College (2014-2016).

United Community Schools
United Community Schools aims to improve student achievement by meeting the health, safety and social service needs of students, parents and communities. It does this by facilitating partnerships between schools and non-profits, local businesses and non-governmental organizations, as well as with government agencies. These organizations, in turn, provide vital services to public schools, making each building a hub in the community. We create collaborative school communities that give voice to educators, parents and community members together with the school administration exemplify our community learning schools. In our model, the Community School Director (CSD) serves as the key point person responsible for integrating the programs and services and managing the partnerships within each community learning school.
