Amjad Shaikh

Amjad Shaikh has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of health, safety, and environment (HSE). Amjad currently serves as the Group Head of HSSE at United Energy Group Limited, where they are responsible for developing and implementing corporate HSSE management systems and processes across all subsidiary companies. Amjad also focuses on risk management, continuous improvement in HSSE performance, and ensuring compliance with company standards. Additionally, they coach and develops HSSE teams and serves as a key interface with the asset leadership and HSSE community.

Prior to their current role, Amjad worked as an HSE Manager at United Energy Pakistan from 2015 to 2021, overseeing HSE aspects at the organization. Before joining United Energy Pakistan, they worked at BP as a Planning & Assurance Lead from 2012 to 2015. Their responsibilities included leading planning and assurance activities.

Amjad has also held positions at Petrofac International Limited, Sharjah, where they served as an H&S Team Leader from 2010 to 2012, and at bp, where they worked as an H&S Team Leader, Environmental and Regulatory Compliance Team Leader, and Senior Environmental Engineer from 2001 to 2010. In these roles, they managed various HSE aspects, remediation projects, environmental issues, and achieved ISO certifications.

Their career began at Eni in 1998, where they worked as an Environmental Advisor, providing guidance on environmental and HSE matters in gas fields, drilling projects, and national parks. Prior to that, they worked as an Environmental Consultant at NEC Consultants Pvt Ltd. from 1996 to 1998, providing environmental solutions and working closely with various industries.

Amjad Shaikh completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Civil Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology between 1985 and 1990. Amjad then pursued a Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering from Wayne State University between 1994 and 1995.
